With a protagonist going by the name of Cressida Cupcake & numerous mentions of gooey deliciousness, I couldn't find a thing I disliked about the book。With picturesque Cornwall as a backdrop, add a bunch of fun characters, stir in some beautiful writing, a sprinkle of love & a dash of humour。Place in the oven & bake for several hours, feeling that soft, fluffy warmness envelop you。It certainly won't leave you with a soggy bottom。Rating 🎂🎂🎂🎂🍰 With a protagonist going by the name of Cressida Cupcake & numerous mentions of gooey deliciousness, I couldn't find a thing I disliked about the book。With picturesque Cornwall as a backdrop, add a bunch of fun characters, stir in some beautiful writing, a sprinkle of love & a dash of humour。Place in the oven & bake for several hours, feeling that soft, fluffy warmness envelop you。It certainly won't leave you with a soggy bottom。Rating 🎂🎂🎂🎂🍰 。。。more

I have been a fan of Jane’s work for a while now。 I haven’t read everything that she has written to date but I am getting there。 I read the synopsis for ‘Tea For Two At The Little Cornish Kitchen’ and it certainly sounded like the sort of story I have come to expect from Jane – a fun, light hearted and ultimately heart warming story。 Well it was certainly all that and so much more。 I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Tea For Two At The Little Cornish Kitchen’ but more about that in a bit。I loved the c I have been a fan of Jane’s work for a while now。 I haven’t read everything that she has written to date but I am getting there。 I read the synopsis for ‘Tea For Two At The Little Cornish Kitchen’ and it certainly sounded like the sort of story I have come to expect from Jane – a fun, light hearted and ultimately heart warming story。 Well it was certainly all that and so much more。 I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Tea For Two At The Little Cornish Kitchen’ but more about that in a bit。I loved the character of Cressy Hobson and I warmed to her from the start。 In fact I ended up feeling as though she had become a friend of mine rather than a character in a book and I felt all protective towards her。 Cressy is a lovely young lass, who has been through some tough times of late。 She is an internet sensation with her own successful food blog and there was talk of a cookbook。 Without going into too much detail, something happens which threatens to destroy her career。 Cressy ends up going to dog sit for her brother in St。 Aidan whilst he and his partner are abroad。 Cressy is going to look after the dog, lie low and rebuild her life。 Cressy also has to deal with some painful memories of St。 Aidan。 I kept everything crossed that she would be able to rebuild her life, deal with her past problems and have a blast of a time。 What happens? Well for the answers to those questions and more you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves to find out as I am not going to tell you。‘Tea For Two At The Little Cornish Kitchen’ is actually the second book in ‘The Little Cornish Kitchen’ series。 As with the first book, I was drawn into this story from the synopsis alone。 As soon as I started reading, I knew that I wasn’t going to be able to put this book to one side for any length of time。 I had taken so well to Cressy that I simply had to know how the story turned out for her and what implications this had for her future。 To say that reading ‘Tea For Two At The Little Cornish Kitchen became addictive is a bit of an understatement。 I would pick the book up only intending to read a couple of chapters but I would become so wrapped up in the lives and loves of the various characters that I lost all track of time and just how quickly I was getting through the story。 All too quickly I reached the end of the story and I had to say goodbye to Cressy and the others。 I found ‘Tea For Two At The Little Cornish Kitchen’ to be a delight to read and I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of it。 The story was heart warming and fun。 On finishing reading ‘Tea For Two At The Little Cornish Kitchen’, I was left feeling as though I had had a hug from a mug of hot chocolate- in other words I was left feeling all warm and fuzzy inside。‘Tea For Two At The Little Cornish Kitchen’ is superbly written but then I have come to expect nothing less from Jane Linfoot。 She has an easy going writing styles that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with。 In fact reading one of her books feels more like a chat between friends rather than reading an actual book。 I hope that makes sense。 For me the story hit the ground running and maintained a gentle pace throughout。 Jane clearly cares about her characters and this shines through in her work as she describes them so well and so thoroughly that the characters seem just as real as you and I。 Jane describes St。 Aidan so well and so convincingly that I almost packed a suitcase and travelled there as the place sounds like heaven。 I loved the way in which Jane weaves humour into her stories and I especially loved reading about the shenanigans that the dog got up to。 Being a dog owner myself, I couldn’t help but smile every time the dog did something that it shouldn’t。 I love the way in which Jane makes the reader feel as though they are part of the story themselves and at the heart of the action。 That’s how I felt at any rate。In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Tea For Two At The Little Cornish Kitchen’ and I wholeheartedly recommend that you read it。 I will certainly be reading more of Jane’s work in the future。 The score on the Ginger Book Geek is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*。 。。。more

I must confess that I have read and enjoyed a large number of baking related books, this was no exception, and I could almost taste the delightful confections at each mention。 In fact, I was thrilled to discover a lovely collection of recipes, at the back of the book。It was easy to get a sense of Cressy’s despair as her career is in tatters and her internet following is as derailed as her own soggy bottomed TV fiasco。 Escaping to St Aidan, the cosy Cornish Village where her brother and his wife I must confess that I have read and enjoyed a large number of baking related books, this was no exception, and I could almost taste the delightful confections at each mention。 In fact, I was thrilled to discover a lovely collection of recipes, at the back of the book。It was easy to get a sense of Cressy’s despair as her career is in tatters and her internet following is as derailed as her own soggy bottomed TV fiasco。 Escaping to St Aidan, the cosy Cornish Village where her brother and his wife live, Cressy is seriously unnerved to discover that her former lover, Ross Bradbury, is also in town。This may seem like it will be a simple lovers reunited trope, but Jane Linfoot takes the reader on a fabulously heartwarming journey as Cressy soon becomes involved in village life。 There’s plenty of baking en-route, and as ideas for Cressy to find an income to support her changed circumstances start to appear, she realises that she can also raise much needed funds to help save the local retirement village。This lovely story has a host of gorgeous characters, including the Mermaid Ladies, you’ll have to read the book you want to know more, but I particularly enjoyed Walter。 He stuck me as the grandfather that every girl wants to have in their life。 Maybe a tad grumpy but filled with a huge heart and love for life。I enjoyed escaping to Cornwall and imagining consuming all the wonderful cakes。 I highly recommend this lovely story。 。。。more

I have read quite a few books by this author and this latest one is a wonderfully stunning and also poignant read。 Set in the village of St。 Aiden, Cornwall the author has brought this small coastal community to life。 Cressida, or Cressy as she prefers has come to St Aiden to pet sit for her brother and his wife。 The timing is good for her as her career has taken a turn for the worse。 She had a very good career on the internet from baking and sharing her recipes, tips and advice。 However, this a I have read quite a few books by this author and this latest one is a wonderfully stunning and also poignant read。 Set in the village of St。 Aiden, Cornwall the author has brought this small coastal community to life。 Cressida, or Cressy as she prefers has come to St Aiden to pet sit for her brother and his wife。 The timing is good for her as her career has taken a turn for the worse。 She had a very good career on the internet from baking and sharing her recipes, tips and advice。 However, this all went disastrously wrong when she appeared on a baking show。She finds solitude to be her friend and has spent more time alone cultivating her internet persona to perfection that she has no time for anything else in her life。 When she arrives in St Aiden, her sister in law has already lined a support system up for her。 Cressy is polite but not that fussed。 She also didn't realise that her old flame, Ross, was back in the village。Tal;k about things tumbling down around her, the author really did go to town with Cressy。 She then throws her headlong into a group of friends who are, well a bit bossy, but who actually is just what Cressy needs, even though she doesn't realise it。The author does an amazingly mouthwatering job with cakes, brownies, blondies, sponges, meringues and a whole range of other delicious treats。 It obviously fits in with the storyline as well as the title! The author has also made this a book about generations and this makes for some wonderful reading。 Flirting and innuendos add a light touch to the story as does the antics of Diesel。While this is a heartwarming and at times humorous story, the author touches on some very sad topics。 For me, this is a way of keeping the storyline more realistic。 It would be great if we could all live in a world without loss or of being scared。 But life is as life is and that includes the sad times。 The balance between the sadder themes is offset with some wonderful moments of hope for the future, second chances and starting afresh。HEartwarming and wonderful from start to finish。 This is definitely one for fans of contemporary fiction and romance as well as those who like stories with recipes。 There is a selection of mouthwatering recipes at the end of the book as well。 This is a book I would definitely recommend。 。。。more

This book will make you feel hungry for cake and lots of it。 The descriptions of all the brownies, blondies, meringues, icing, cookies, well, anything cake is beautiful。 This is a cosy, contemporary romance with lots of love and fun and a fantastic cast of characters。 The cover is stunning and perfect for the pages between them。The plot centres around Cressy Cupcake, an internet baking sensation who is house-sitting for her brother while he is away。 A blast from the past appears soon after she a This book will make you feel hungry for cake and lots of it。 The descriptions of all the brownies, blondies, meringues, icing, cookies, well, anything cake is beautiful。 This is a cosy, contemporary romance with lots of love and fun and a fantastic cast of characters。 The cover is stunning and perfect for the pages between them。The plot centres around Cressy Cupcake, an internet baking sensation who is house-sitting for her brother while he is away。 A blast from the past appears soon after she arrives in the form of her ex, Ross Bradbury, and she's not happy to see him in the slightest! I loved following Cressy's journey, trying to make some money to live on so she didn't have to ask for help。 She transformed her life and her whole world simultaneously by helping to save the local care home she had become so fond of。I loved the concept of The Little Cornish Kitchen on tour and seeing how Cressy deals with new situations, a diverse range of people and the events that follow。The characters were warm and loving。 Cressy makes the most amazing little group of friends, who call themselves the Mermaids, who will do anything to help each other。 The care home residents, staff and the other characters are delightful and well developed, though some of their parts are small。 Most of all, I think ten-year-old Millie was my favourite character。 She is confident, very switched on and full of personality and advice for those around her。The ending was predictably happily ever after, but I would expect nothing less from such a book, and it was perfect right to the last words。This is a standout feel-good read, the perfect escapism from the rest of the world。 I read it as a stand-alone, although the first book, 'The Little Cornish Kitchen', published in 2018, focuses on Charlie and Clemmie, so I will be going back to read that one soon。 I just might need a little trip to Cornwall to rest, relax and eat cake while I read it! 。。。more

It took me a bit to get into this book, but once I did it was enjoyable。 Cressy and Ross have a history and are getting a second chance at love。 My favorite character was the dog! The title and book cover are slightly misleading, in my opinion。 The characters are more laid back and funnier than the title implies。 An overall delightful read。Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy。

I really enjoyed this book which was full of fun, Cressida has offered to dog sit for her Brother while he is away, which is perfect timing as things haven’t gone so well on a baking show for Cressida and social media has turned against her。 Back in St Aidan she bumps into her Brothers best friend Ross who she had a relationship a few years earlier。 Cressida is encouraged to get involved in the community fund raising and ends up doing baking sessions in a care home。 This book has wonderful chara I really enjoyed this book which was full of fun, Cressida has offered to dog sit for her Brother while he is away, which is perfect timing as things haven’t gone so well on a baking show for Cressida and social media has turned against her。 Back in St Aidan she bumps into her Brothers best friend Ross who she had a relationship a few years earlier。 Cressida is encouraged to get involved in the community fund raising and ends up doing baking sessions in a care home。 This book has wonderful characters, each who bring their own part to the story。Cressida finds herself thrown more and more together with Ross, can she put the hurt aside of the past and look to the future。This book should however come with a warning to not read while you are hungry as lots of baking and descriptions of cakes! This is a wonderful book which I would highly recommend。Thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for a review copy in exchange for my honest opinion which is completely my own。 。。。more

When Cressy is invited to Cornwall to dog and house sit while her brother and sister-in-law are away, it couldn’t come at a better time。 Cressy is a social media baking star but when it all goes wrong on a bake off show her fans and sponsors drop off at an alarming rate and she needs to get away to lick her wounds and escape the on-line hate。 When she bumps into an old flame in the same village, Cressy really feels her life can’t sink any lower and she needs to find a way to rebuild her reputati When Cressy is invited to Cornwall to dog and house sit while her brother and sister-in-law are away, it couldn’t come at a better time。 Cressy is a social media baking star but when it all goes wrong on a bake off show her fans and sponsors drop off at an alarming rate and she needs to get away to lick her wounds and escape the on-line hate。 When she bumps into an old flame in the same village, Cressy really feels her life can’t sink any lower and she needs to find a way to rebuild her reputation and earn some cash quickly。A fun story with plenty of heartache sprinkled in。 It conjures up an idyllic Cornish lifestyle and even includes some yummy sounding recipes。 Make sure you have cake and a cuppa to hand when you’re reading this one! 。。。more

What a fun, quick read that had me laughing out loud more then once。 The setting is in Cornwall by the beach。Starting over, getting another chance and overcoming past mistakes。Main character, Cressy, is a internet sensation with Cressida Cupcakes。 Then, an unexpected situation arises that has Cressy escaping to a small, seaside village in Cornwall。 Can she find peace here? Will she find love?It was a wonderful story with great characters。 And, the addition of yummy baked goods and recipes was a What a fun, quick read that had me laughing out loud more then once。 The setting is in Cornwall by the beach。Starting over, getting another chance and overcoming past mistakes。Main character, Cressy, is a internet sensation with Cressida Cupcakes。 Then, an unexpected situation arises that has Cressy escaping to a small, seaside village in Cornwall。 Can she find peace here?
